Hyundai has taken another step into the premium marque territory, as evidenced by its latest concept, the HND-9, which was recently introduced at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show.
Moving away from its former reputation as a value brand, Hyundai has been gradually and consistently redesigning its lineup of vehicles with a “Fluidic Sculpture” design language that has transformed ordinary vehicles into head-turning stunners. The HND-9 heralds a continuation of the same philosophy in the design of completely new models.
An attractive and sophisticated look is not the only weapon in the HND-9’s arsenal. Hyundai has equipped this model with a powerful 3.3-liter turbo GDi engine that delivers 370 horsepower through an eight-speed automatic transmission. That’s enough power to make sure performance does not play second fiddle to the HND-9’s sculptural image.
The interior does not lag behind, as the whole cabin is built around the driver, from the dashboard interface to the luxury sport seats. Every element has been optimized to enhance the driving experience, with a combination of functional technology and elegant design creating a practical-yet-chic cockpit.
We are really excited about this concept here at our New Hampshire Hyundai dealership, and we would love to add this model to our showroom if Hyundai decides to put it into production. In the meantime, you can visit us at any time and test-drive Hyundai’s current premium sports coupe, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe.
