The Honda Civic has been going back and forth with the Toyota Corolla for the crown as the best-selling nameplate of all time, in large part because it offers its drivers a tremendous all-around value. From earning an IIHS Top Safety Pick to being named to KBB.com’s “10 Coolest New Cars Under $18,000 of 2013” list, the Civic is able to deliver it all.
Including race car-like performance. Honda is planning to add a Type R hatchback to the Civic family for 2015, which would be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Prior estimates had the 2015 Civic Type R generating around 280 horsepower, but that number has jumped to 320 hp, according to recent reports.
Honda revealed photos of the Civic Type R, and you can get a sneak peek of it below!
