Major auto shows represent a great time for manufacturers to introduce new concepts and models to the world, and Volkswagen certainly used the big stage of the Big Apple to do just that. At the New York International Auto Show, VW showcased the all-new 2015 Golf Sportwagen to North American consumers for the first time.
The next generation of the Golf Sportwagen will include a wide range of changes, highlighted by its engine offerings. The 2015 model will be available with a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine as well as the completely new TDI Clean Diesel engine Volkswagen has on the way, nicknamed the EA288. As a result, the 2015 VW Golf Sportwagen is expected to see a 17 percent increase in fuel economy, along with plenty of additional room for cargo.
VW also showcased the 2015 Jetta at the New York Auto Show, which will come with an even more efficient TDI Clean Diesel engine and a host of new driver-assistance technologies and systems.
